Great Park!
It was a somewhat cold night at Huntington Park and there weren't may fans in attendence, but for our first time at Huntington park it couldn't have been better. The ballpark is beautiful, we sat in 5 different locations for an inning or more each just to get different perspectives and I have to say I'd have a hard time choosing where I'd want to sit for the next game I attend here. The food was good too, with great specials on craft beers all game and city barbeque sandwiches before first pitch. All in all it was a great experience and we will be back again. Worth the 130+ mile jouney for sure!
The venue was located well within the downtown area with many, many establishments and hotels within a 1 mile walking distance. The only complaint I have if I really had to be picky would be that I wish they had a re-entry policy. We are spoiled in Progressive Field that we can exit and re-enter the ball park. We may not have even used it, but It is a great option and I wish all ball parks would adopt this, although I know this is unlikely to happen.
Class Act in Columbus
Huntington Park is truly a wonderful place to spend an evening. Parking was easy with only a short stroll to the park. Lines waiting for the park to open we’re organized, allowing us to find our section quickly and with no confusion. Our Usher for the evening, Marty (section 16) is a jem to be treasured. He was kind and very enthusiastic when escorting us to our seats, even wiping them down before we settled in. He genuinely loves helping the fans, the upbeat warm attitude he exuded was quite catching. The game started exactly on time, with the schedule being kept the entire game. The fans were kind and friendly. We are Cincinnati Reds fans, and we were supporting the Bats. Even in “enemy” territory we were able to make friendly conversation with those seated around us. Even though our team lost, Huntington Park helped us to have a fantastic evening. The ease with which we were able to get to our car and leave was quite wonderful. Huntington Park is both beautiful, as well as it is filled with beautiful souls. You are a true class act, Huntington Park! Thank you for the wonderful time, we will be back soon!
Playoff baseball
We took our 5 grandkids to their first baseball game and they had a ball! Clippers got down 10 runs early so that was a bummer. Nice crowd and a beautiful night. Our only complaint is that after the 5th inning we couldn't find cotton candy ANYWHERE in the stadium and believe me we tried. I know that after Blue Jackets games they are selling it right outside the door. Kids would have been much happier if they got the cotton candy Papa promised them. I asked an usher and she said she had no idea where you could buy it once the vendors that walk the isles sell out.
